You’re Going to Get Old and It’s Going to Get Weird

Aging is so awkward. Why didn’t anyone mention this before?

I’ll be 63 this year. September 25th to be exact. Any other Libra babies here?

For the past couple of years, I’ve been trying to understand this whole ‘aging’ thing. It’s weird. My 50s were great. My 60s hit, and my first thought was ‘what the fuck just happened’?

Suddenly, I’m old.

Now, before all you readers over 75 or 80 start chiming in with “You’re just a baby” or “You call that old? Wait till you hit my age”, just don’t.

Perspective is everything, and my perspective, right now, is I’m getting old. Please step back :)

I decided, for fun, to stop colouring my hair. Just to see how it would look and, because, why not?

I’m thinking now, 6 months later, it was a big mistake, but I’m too lazy to start colouring it again, nor do I even really give a shit at this point. But, I’ll tell ya, it sure changed the way people look at me and treat me.

I’m an invisible old lady now. It kinda sucks, but it is what it is. I look around at all the other ‘old ladies’ in my town, and we all just kinda blend in, or something like that.
