I recently took in a rescue dog to foster only. She had been chained up for over a year and barely fed. You can imagine how happy and free she feels here in my big yard, no chains around her neck, use of a comfy sofa, yummy food and lots of treats.

She’s most certainly living the life.

It took me awhile to find a suitable name for her. I had to let her settle in and feel out her personality a bit. I mean, she’s probably still trying to feel out her own personality too!

A few days in, I chose Sassy. She’s a little spunky and playful now that she doesn’t hate my guts anymore and doesn’t want to eat me. With that said, she still hates boys. Can ya blame her? 😉

Feeling her way around her new ‘hood

Because Sassy is basically afraid of everything that isn’t her or me, I had to be very careful with her and the several street dogs that hang around my house. Normally I feed up to 7 every day. I open the door and they run around my yard and then all file out as soon as I lay food down for them.

I haven’t been able to do that since I took Sassy in. I’m just not qualified to break up dog fights and besides, I don’t want no blood in my yard. 😭😭
