First of all, I don’t know where they got the name Karen from. Was it an actual real-life Karen that started this trend? I’ll have to Google that one day.

~side note~ I did Google it, and the results were quite interesting. You should Google it, too.

But the bigger question here is — how can you tell the difference if a woman is a real-life Karen or just going through menopause or having a midlife crisis?

There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question. The symptoms of menopause and Karen-like behaviour can vary from person to person and are eerily quite similar.

However, there are some general things to look out for that may help you to distinguish between the two. This way, you’ll know if you should show empathy or flash the middle finger.

Here are ten ways to know if a woman is in menopause or just being a Karen. You’re welcome.

🟡 Menopause is Natural: Karen-like Behaviour is Learned

Menopause is caused by the loss of ovarian follicular function and a decline in circulating blood estrogen levels (WHO), which leads to a variety of physical and emotional symptoms.
