I Just Hit a Milestone and I Realized One Very Important Thing

A story of perseverance! ❤

But before I go on and on about this epic milestone I want you to know one thing. I’m not writing this to brag or gloat. Nope. Not in me to do that. I’m sharing this with you because I know how fucking hard it is to try to build something and you don’t see the fruits of your labour right away OR it all seems to be taking forever.

Take heart. Patience. Perseverance. Determination. Learn them. Get them. Have them. Use them.

So back in January of this year I tackled the behemoth more commonly known as Pinterest. Don’t run away yet. Keep reading. If you’re a website owner, online business store owner or blogger, this is for YOU!

I had no clue what I was doing in there. It was frightening to say the least. Pinterest is massive and full of pretty pictures. “Oh look at that pretty dress..oh look at those yummy cookies….oh that’s a nice wreath…” It’s so much “oh look how pretty” that I was sure this wasn’t for me.

But a friend insisted. Iva just try it. I’m always up for learning new things. Kinda like sticking needles in my eyes. I’m always up for that too.

So I bought a book. A damn good book. And off I went to learn. Oh so much stuff to learn but I applied myself. I was determined to learn this and work it. I promised myself at least that much.

Just try it Iva.

I would read a section of the book and then go apply it. Read another section, apply that one too. Step by step, hour after hour, burning the midnight oil, I worked my ass off. I was going all in on this one. I was tired of snubbing my nose at something I knew nothing about.

I figured if I worked it and still didn’t produce any results, at least I could say I tried.

I put in 100% effort and the results within the first two months were mind blowing! Take a look at this chart. Keep in mind I started December 27th with 15 followers and practically no engagement. I mean, my Pinterest account was a joke to say the least.

See the dates? I can’t even make this up. Mind=blown. I started with 16 viewers Dec 27th and as of Feb 28th I had 116,000.

And this was just the beginning. How can you not get excited about growth like that? Clearly, I was on to something good. Traffic to the site was growing nicely. I still had lots to learn and tons of work ahead of me but I was persistent now.

Pinterest was proving to be everything everyone said it was. Time to get real serious. And I did. I created images until my eyes bled, edited blogs for days, you name it, I did it.

Traffic was growing so fast I was sure I was seeing things. Google Adsense earnings were doubling and I knew without a shadow of a doubt, this Pinterest thing was certainly for me. The best part of that, I was inspiring millions of people around the world to live a better and happier life! Yay!

The Milestone

Right, the reason I’m writing this in the first place. So today, almost one year to the date, I crossed 10,000 followers on Pinterest, applied for a higher ad paying agency last week (Ezoic and they are the bomb!!!) and got accepted (earnings have now quadrupled) and am now reaching almost 4 million people monthly with words of motivation and inspiration.

Changing the world one smile at a time :) That always was my goal when I first started this journey. How many I could actually reach, I had no idea. Pinterest has proven to me that the sky is the limit.

YOU got it in you!

Yup, here we go with the ‘if I can do it so can you’. Don’t discount something because you think it will be too hard or not for you. Yes Pinterest is a lot of effin work to get started but it’s so worth it.

If you are willing to work hard on your business, which you should be doing anyway, then you can achieve anything! How passionate are you about what you do? Your work should put a fire under your ass.

You should be excited every goddamn morning about waking up to a new day and learning new ways to reach your peeps and helping them. ❤

Oh right, so the one thing I realized

So what was the one thing I realized in reaching this milestone? When you want something bad enough and work your ass off, results follow. Period!

I also realized when you believe in yourself and are willing to learn new things and push yourself out of your comfort zone, the Universe will blow your fucking mind.

(ok so I realized two things)

You have a gift. You are here for a reason. Don’t hold back. Find your voice. Learn new ways to get your voice heard. Pull up your big girl/boy panties and go kick some Pinterest ass! 😝

Peace and Love
