The day finally arrived—the day everyone talks about but no one looks forward to. We all secretly wish it happened to anyone else but us. That day.

The day I realized I had just hit rock bottom.

So this is what it feels like. I get it now. Now I see what all the buzz is about.

My idea of rock bottom went something like this:

~The entire world is pitch black. There are people around, but they are pointing and laughing at you. Breathing becomes difficult to the point where you are pretty sure you’re about to fucking die. There’s a sick feeling in your stomach that’s comparable to having been beaten by a sledgehammer. You’re clutching and clawing at walls that are caving in on you and screaming in agony and horror. But no one hears you. You are alone. And you’re about to die.

It turns out that what I thought rock bottom must feel like and what it actually does feel like are identical. Go figure.

So is this it? Is this how it ends?

From there, that rock bottom day, my life was hell. I had a million questions and no answers. I was a lost, broken soul.
