For F**k Sake Stop Looking For Your Life Purpose

Why does it seem that every where I turn and everything I read, someone is trying to find their life purpose? And then there’s the slew of articles about helping you find your life purpose. I think I may have even written one up a few months ago.

Guilty as charged.

But something clicked in me tonight. I was doing my Live over on my Facebook page and the Angel Card reading tonight revealed the Life Purpose card with a very interesting message.

“The purpose of your life is to serve in a way that brings joy to yourself and others. Don’t worry about finding your purpose. Instead, focus on serving a purpose and then your purpose will serve you”

Read that again. One more time.

I need that to really sink in.

You are here for joy

You are not here to suffer or be sad or miserable. You are here for joy. You are also here to do your part to make your world a better place.

What brings you joy? Do you love singing or dancing? Maybe you love playing with kids or talking to old people and listening to stories from the 20’s. Or maybe you are an artsy fartsy crafty type person.

You probably have 1 or 2 or 6 things that bring you joy and make your heart sing. We all do!! Every single one of us has something inside of us that makes us so fucking ridiculously happy we could cry.

That’s the thing that you are meant to do more of. That’s your gift to the world.

I didn’t find my purpose

My purpose found me. I wasn’t even looking to be honest. The last thing I was looking for at the time my purpose found me was my purpose in life (sorry that got a little confusing).

I had just hit rock bottom. 5 years ago my whole life was falling apart and I didn’t know how to stop it. I had nothing. I spent my days wallowing in self pity and singing the blues to anyone who would listen.

It got so bad I couldn’t even stand to listen to myself anymore. It was pathetic. I was pathetic. I needed a distraction. I needed something. I had never been so fucking broken in my life.

I did something that would change the course of my entire life.

I decided to go volunteer at the homeless shelter twice a month feeding dinner to help take my mind off of my miserable pathetic life, and my problems.

I served dinner. I served 200 broken and lost souls. I served my heart.

What happened next still blows my mind to this day. Right there, in the middle of the dinner hall, pouring coffee to addicts and helpless souls my purpose found me.

I wasn’t even looking. I was serving a purpose and unbeknownst to me, the Universe had something so much bigger in store for me.

My purpose also took me right out of Canada to a third world country to serve more. That’s the true power of your purpose. As long as you feed it and have faith in it.

It finds you

That’s how you find your purpose. You don’t. It finds you. It finds you by you doing the things you love to do. The things that make your heart sing and dance in such amazing joy you’re sure it will beat right out of your goddamn chest.

That’s your purpose baby.

So stop looking for it. Stop scratching your head wondering what it is, when it will show up and where you will find it. It’s already in you.

I love you ❤

Peace and Love
