Hiding Our Age Behind Makeup and Botox

I just can’t anymore. Why are women desperately trying to look 25 when it’s clear they’re not!? This whole article may just be me ranting. Sorry, not sorry.

Image created in Canva using AI

I had a hard time finding the perfect image for this article, so off I went to Canva AI to let them create it. This image captures what’s in my mind perfectly.

Because I’m a content creator on YouTube, and I watch a LOT of videos from women in my niche (over 50 women), I get to see what kind of content women my age are creating, and I’ll be honest…

I’m slightly disgusted and disappointed. More on that in a bit.

Turning 60 was hard

When I hit 50, I felt like I had a new lease on life. I did a lot of really bold and ballsy things.

  • I left my abusive relationship
  • I closed my salon and declared bankruptcy (not something I’m proud of or happy about)
  • I learned how to become a freelance writer
  • I hung up my cutting shears and became a full-time writer
  • I packed 2 suitcases, bought a one-way ticket to Guatemala, and
  • Started a whole new life.
